    Hello TW!

I am brand new to the site, but a long time taco-man (long for a 24 year old anyways). I bought a 2000 SR5 extra cab for my first vehicle at 16, and just recently bought a brand new double cab TRD sport. Love these trucks!

I am considering installing a CAI and possibly adding a little bit of a lift. What intake do you recommend? I have seen a couple people with 2013 models mention the Volant system, and the AFE, and then obviously there is K&N. I imagine K&N is quality since they make TRD parts... However, the Volant is fully encased, unlike the K&N, and the Volant also has the air duct... Do you guys recommend one or the other?

Furthermore, TRD says that they have not released a unit for the 2014 models, and prior year parts will not fit the new engine... I find it hard to believe it simply is not possible, but I have gotten this information from multiple sources. Do the Volant and K&N systems fit the 2014 model fine?

Also, where can I get specs to see how big of tires I can put on her before I need a lift? I'm looking at a fairly subtle lift, 1"-2" or 2"-3" with the front slightly higher.

Thanks for the input, and I look forward to interacting with you guys!

P.S. If you just want to reply with something along the lines of "you're retarded for wanting an intake, they are useless" then find a different thread to post your comment.

Go with whatever intake you want. TRD is not made by Toyota but rather K&N makes it. So just get a K&N and call it good.

Intakes are useless unless it's a supercharger.

Let Toyota build it then do what you want to it. As far as a CAI goes it will do nothing to help with HP / MPG unless you install a S/C. Other than that it will just make more noise letting you know that it just sucked a bunch of money out of your wallet for no reason.

Your '12 build was pretty sweet man. Thanks for your link. That gives me some great ideas.
