i have a 09 double cab prerunner. i want to run 33's and do a 6" lift. I know i dont want to sacrifice comfort for cost, so spacers are out of the picture.

for the rear im going to order custom leafs and do icon shocks so i get the best ride. no AALs or blocks.

the problem is how to do the front. people say the procomp and fabtech kit are a waste for 2WD. it seems everyone recommends the spindles and billies. but that only gets about 4" of lift out front.

is there a way to get 6" of front lift on a 2WD reasonably? im not trying to spend a million dollars, but then again, im not trying to be a cheapskate either.

trd seat covers, bed mat, tinted windows, debadged, mud flaps removed, tinted tails, blacked out center console, Black Rims, 6000k HID in highs and fogs, blacked out front emblem, Pioneer AVH-4300DVD, Gauge Cluster, lower valence, retrofitted, audio system, Maxtrac Spindles, Billies
maxtrac or camburg spindles and then put the billies at 2.5"? that should get you a little over 6" in the front.

edit: or run some ome springs to get the other 2" of lift and set the billies at 0.

i knew about that, but people say maxing them out like that makes them break and ride like crap. im still new to lifting suspension. what do the fabtech kits do that gives it the extra 2"? for the sake of a newb question, can i put the spindles on and lifted coilovers (like icons) and get the best ride and a 6" lift?

Im actually going to be putting some ome 884's on the front, and the all pro expo leaf pack here in a few week (I hope). But I wouldnt see a problem with that. A lot of people here look down on "stacking lifts" so beware of that but if you wanted to spend the extra money for that I dont see a problem with it.

    I'd do spindles and Coilovers.

The fabtech lifts use drop brackets to lift, basically they extend the frame down and the suspension mount points are moved closer to the ground.

    so for 6" lift for a 2wd...

    front:
    Spindles
    lift coilovers
    longer travel shocks

    rear:
    6" lift leafs
    longer travel shocks

thats it? now with 6" of lift on a 2wd, what problems would i be looking at having? things breaking? any other mods i should do with it soon to help solve these? thanks for all the help guys!

Icon Ext travel CO, Icon tubular uniball UCAs, Maxtrac Spindles, Icon RR rear w 2"aal.
A 6" rear leaf will net you more lift than you want. When the front is lifted 6" (4" w/ spindles and ~2" w/ coilovers), you should only need around 4-4.5" of rear lift. Other things you'll need to consider are longer brake lines front and rear, carrier bearing drop, driveshaft spacer, and wheels with right backspacing, amongst others I'm forgetting.

thanks for all the help guys! so i did some more reading, and everyone talks about the rear relaxing and sagging a bit. so would it better to get 5" lift springs in the rear? or is it still going to lift it too much? i just read up on the carrier bearing drop, but cant really find anything solid on the driveshaft spacer. anyone know a good thread or can explain me that one? i see some people just get new one-piece driveshafts....is that better than doing that drop and spacer?

Maxtrac spindles and Icon COs will get you to 6" and if you get the standard travel ones you can keep your stock UCAs. There wouldn't be any issues with this set-up at all and the ride would be how Icon intended leaving the COs set for 2" of lift. If you go with the extended travel COs you will need some new UCAs to allow for the additional droop.

If you adjusted the Icons all the way up for about a 1" lift to be about 5" total up front, you can save some money on the rear and get Dakars rather than custom packs. Custom packs are pricy and shipping is usually way expensive.
