I put a down payment down on a 2014 double cab sport that the dealership had on order. I was told certain things when I put a $500 deposit down that the truck would have. I am finding out now that it's not going to have some of those items but it is going to have the Entune with NAV. not the JBL just Entune with NAV. When I put the down payment down on this truck I made it clear that I didn't care about the NAV as most phones anymore have a better NAV built in for free and can talk to me through my bluetooth for free. To make a long story short I have found out after being told that my truck would have a compass, temp gauge and home link that it doesn't have any of those options and come to find out those options aren't even available on any Tacoma. The dealership is saying the NAV is way better and doesn't understand why I'm so upset and is fighting me on giving me my $500 deposit back. My question to the guys out that have this Entune with NAV setup is how do you like it? My understanding so far is that to get the temp it updates every 10-15 minutes and then it might not actually be where I am at but will be the nearest major populated area. Also to have the compass up and running you have to have the NAV app pulled up. My wife thinks you have to have your phone hooked up through bluetooth. Anybody out there that has this setup in their truck your help would be appreciated.

The nav works fine but just like most built in systems, if you want map updates you have to pay for them.

I was at a dealer last week and they DO have a DCSP and it had JBL with everything else so it is possible to get.

Dealer and I are still arguing about this. Now they are telling me that to get everything to work correctly you have to be in an HD radio area or have your phone connected via bluetooth using your data plan to pull the info. Very disappointed. our 2012 Camry hybrid has all the features that I am wanting. I really don't understand what Toyota was thinking with this other than they knew that the Tacoma already sells itself lets pull some things out of the 2014 and make a little more profit and see if it still sells itself which obviously it doesn't by the number of people on here that have them. I for one won't be one of them. I don't understand the thought process in buying a $30K plus truck and right out the gate spending another couple hundred dollars putting in a modified mirror to get features that are basic on any other vehicles.

When I put a deposit on my Taco in Sept they gave me a spec sheet on exactly on what I was getting, Get your deposit back and find another dealer and start over. Good Luck!

P.S. They have to refund your deposit!!

I didn't get a spec sheet until yesterday despite asking for one to many times to count. I was specifically told that this truck would have the compass, temp gauge and home link. Yesterday they even told me that it would all be in the rearview mirror (which I knew was crap) I have told the dealership to have my $500 deposit refunded to me by Monday or I will be contacting my credit card company, better business bureau as well as Toyota directly. I have tried calling and asking to speak to the General Manager several times only to be told that he is busy. I spoke to a young woman who's title is Customer Relations Sales Manager after telling her my story she said she would talk with my salesman/asst manager and then she called me back and referred me to talk to my salesman/asst manager's manager. I don't know what else I can do at this point. My salesman did finally admit to me that the truck has to be in HD radio area or be connected through my phone using my data as well as have the entune app downloaded on my phone.

I have that exact system. I finally got frustrated enough that I bought the homelink mirror kit that included the t-stat and compass (not in the stock). The weather thing sucks, it only updates every 20-25 mins and isn't always close to your location. Also your right, it needs HD radio reception to work so if you travel your SOL for certain areas. I even tried a Scanguage II but the "Intake Temp" was always really far off. I've heard some say only 1-2 but mine shows at least 5-7 off (compared to the mirror, and another car making the same trip). Maybe you can get them to install the mirror like others have.
