I have an 01 Tacoma with a 2.4 and auto trans. Recently the park lights have been coming on when you push the brake pedal but only when the light switch is off. Also when the lights are on the brake lights are on.
I've owned it for 3 months and have put around 4000 miles on it. It did this 2 weeks ago for a couple of hours then quit. Then last night as I was pulling into to get gas it started again.
I'm mainly interested in whether any ones had or heard of a similar issue before. Any help would be appreciated.

Check and see if you have a converter box for trailer plug, if the box fails it can do what you described.
