I took my 2005 Tacoma into a dealership that I trust, also bought my sienna there. I took it in because of the seatbelt recall. I left the truck there over night as I wouldn't have time to pick it up due to a hockey tournament. The next morning I had my wife drop me off for my truck. It wouldn't start which has never happened. I got one of the techs and he boosted it with a battery pack. It then ran for about fifteen minutes while I clean the windows off from the frost. I then drove about three km to the arena and watched my daughters hockey game. I came out and started the truck it started fine I pulled out of the parking spot behind a chev 1500. My wife was following me as we approached the stop sign the g.m was stopped, I slowed down and prepared to stop. Then my breaks stopped pumping (abs) then all of a sudden the accelerator revved and with the break completely pushed down the truck drove forward and smacked the g.m. I didn't really know what happened. There was no damages to the g.m and the older couple said don't worry about it. I turned the corner and I was about two km from the dealership again then the truck suddenly kicked into high gear and breaks wouldn't stop it. I put the truck into neutral and glided into dealership. Their head mechanic said that it was a leaky seal that cased no breaks but that doesn't explain the sudden acceleration. Any advise as to what I do in this situation. It was very scary and my wife watched the whole thing with my children behind me, I have been told that Toyota is not to blame. My truck ran perfect before I took it in.

Seems to me that even if the accelerator was stuck the brakes would have worked had you pushed them. Besides the brake has an over ride switch.
As far as the battery being dead, it was probably just it's time. It happens a lot at tire shops, dealerships, carwashes etc.. because they're more likely to leave a door open (int. light on) when it's not running. Was it the original battery?
Don't get me wrong, I'd be the last person to defend a dealership, but I can't imagine what they could have done to cause this.
