Yeah, big tires would slow down his truck even with those extremely low 4:88 gears. Mine is slowed down with a really high 3:31 street geared rear end, so we both are running with similar handicaps.

Where did you get 3:31's? Know a guy that went 4:10's, it was too high like i told him lol. I'm happy with my stock gearing, support tall 1st and a tight 2nd and 3rd.

All the stock 2012 base model 2x4 5 lug 5 speed manuals come with 3:31 rear end gears. They're not designed for off road use, so they're geared for highway driving. At 60 mph in 5th gear, my engine is only turning 2,000 rpm. This is why I modded the engine to enhance low end torque.

That's cuz its the work truck. Last I recall though, we were at 3:13-3:15. Lower your truck and You will be happy with the gearing ;)

Aren't all base 2wd 5 speed 3.31 rear end I know the auto base model is 3.73 I believe
And agreed no need be slammed and notch but small drop look good I can't say downsizing.my tire made acceleration better since the rim is 4" taller and 3" wider than stock prollyy heavier

My acceleration out of turns is phenomenal now that I have the Hino in the rear. It could be, why I put last I remember. Maybe I will try and find a stock ring gear off an auto to up the gear a bit.

Running the stock ring gear that came off my open. Everything but the Elocker is the same on our trucks, Ring bolt is 12, splines are the same, think its 31 or 33, carrier, housing. If anything you could swap a third out of an auto into your housing.

    None yet...just warmin' up
That's a neat, clean bumper exhaust mod, however I'd worry about the "backdraft" all over the tailgate with just normal healthy exhaust flow...kinda like brake pad dust on your front wheels. And there's standing at the tailgate with engine running, too...asphyxiation. For pure style, though, it rocks.

Wanting a mellow, SS Cat Back kit that stood alone from the Borlas and Magnaflux pricey ones, I chose Aeroturbine 2.5". The company is awesome and quick to respond to orders. First Class hardware and a resonator tip that finishes off. It'll be here this week, and can't wait to install. Stock exit location behind the RR wheel on my PreRunner Extended Cab, long bed.
