I've got an 01 Prerunner and the first thing I'm going to do is put rims on it. I want the stock size rim height (16") but I want it to stick out a little further than stock. With that said I was going to go with the size 16x8 and I'm just wondering what size back spacing to use. I'm going to run the stock size tires but just want a little better stance i.e. wider. So I'm not sure if I should go with 4.5 or 5.0 or 5.5 backspacing. I'm going with the Soft 8 rims. Im new to the Toyota scene and I can not wait to make my truck look cool

If you want them to stick out a bit get less back spacing, like around 3.5-4", you might rub a little more though

Do you think even going with the stock back spacing but having the 8" wide rims will do much?

Depends on the wheel you use, I'm not sure for first gen wheels
