    Hey all,

I just lifted the front end of my 98 taco with OME shocks. Will do the rear end tue night.

Can I get an allignment in the mean time? Or will lifting the rear affect that as well? Thanks.

I would think you could go ahead and get an alignment. Would help them front tires out too.

If you are going to be driving, yes you need an alignment. It probably won't wear out the tires if you don't drive too much but for safety and control get it done. Another thing, when the back is lifted you will need another alignment becausse the front is set to the back.

Yes the rear wheels don't get aligned. Mine didn't at least. Just re balanced.

No the rear wheels don't get aligned but the front wheels are set to the back. Plus with the front lifted and the rear not lifted he will be showing high caster(rearward lean of the front spindles) if they adjust this out to norm when he lifts the rear he will be showing dangerously low caster( truck will be all over the road)! Any time you touch the suspension you need to align!

Depends how bad it is off. If it isn't bad and not too many miles your tires should be ok. But if it is bad off it will be extremely squirly ( more than our truck already are!) How much did you lift? Its hard to say but take it for a spin around the block as long as it is not fighting you at around 50 you should be ok til after you get the rear lifted so you only have to pay for an alignment once.

Figured I might as well wait and keep driving to a minimum..

If the front wheels are aligned to the rear it makes sense to hold off on getting an alignment until the rear shocks/leafs are installed.

Its always better to an alignment after you're done with all suspension changes, granted the rear has no adjustment but it never goes back in the same position previously.

I drove mine for 2 weeks to let the suspension settle in before getting the alignment. I didn't want it to settle and then have to get another alignment. I got my tires put on the next day after lifting. I've had no problems with the tires after 46,000 miles.

This is a great idea also, specially if you are going to replace the tires just as long as it isn't off too bad so its not dangerous to drive. You don't want to find out your vehicle is not handling well at 70 on the highway or if you have to swerve for some reason.
