That all comes down to how reliable your truck is. If it burns oil, bring oil. If you have a coolant leak, bring coolant. Otherwise just bring about 10 gallons of gas just in case. I've never needed it, but I always have it for that part of Canada. As far as replacing gears, are you fine driving it at 65-75 MPH an hour right now? If so, don't worry about gears.

At least 1 quart each of engine & trans fluid.
    Brake Fluid
    Water or coolant
    Fuses
    Jumper cables
Any basic tool kit will be sufficient.
i.e. Metric wrenches, pliers, vise grips, hammer, electrical tape, flashlight, gloves, screw drivers, sharp knife, 6" adjustable wrench, ratchet with sockets would be nice.
I'm sure there are more that you could bring but those are the basics.

Best bet is if you already have tools just make sure that they get packed in the truck/trailer that's going on the drive.

If you've been driving around without the better gearing you should be fine.

Make sure you do a good once/twice over of the vehicle and FIX the issues before you leave. I'm sure you've heard all this from your NCO's though. If not shame on them.

I appreciate all of the help and I have all the tools. I will just have to pick some extra parts when I get back cause I'm currently deployed, that's also the reason to for me to re gear cause I was going to put a locker in the back and I might as well change the gears. For the drive how long did it take you to get to the boarder to Canada and then from there to the states?
