Does anybody else have this problem? Seems to me it only happens when its below 10° outside. And the hydraulic clutch in this thing doesn't come up real fast then either... so much different than the 5 and 6 speed ford diesels im used to driving. Where the clutch literally springs up faster than you can let off almost...
And at 50,000 miles on a 2011, I shouldn't be having this problem. Kinda irritated.

My truck has 3,000 miles and does it when it's less than ten degrees. The only fix is to sale it and buy another vehicle. No biggie for me.

It's gotta be that blasted Luk clutch.

I've yet to have mine slip even at -15F. AFAIK it's the original, there's no replacement listed in the service records, and I'm at 137k so that plus its high engagement point means it's probably the Aisin

As for pedal return, yeah it's slow in the cold! It's just brake fluid. It should be changed every 2 years anyways to get the water out of it.

I should clarify that mine doesn't slip just has slow pedal.

that happens to me often my truck has 48000 on a 2012 six speed and mine slips a lot like 4hi is pushing its limits and I've had it completely smoke up and slip doing a rolling 2nd gear take off, like the motor almost effortlessly overpowered the clutch, I plan on complaining to Toyota this weekend because now my throw out bearing is getting loud

Well otherwise I have no complaints but with the weather being so darn cold in Illinois lately it makes it a pain when I can't get past ¼ throttle in fourth gear until I've driven it a while. Is it covered in any way under the warranty at this point? I've heard there's a tsb...
This is my fourth vehicle with a hydraulic clutch, I'm just surprised how slow it was compared to the clutch on a 1990 F250. Its 24 years old with 4 times the miles on a stock clutch...

I would complain if I were you if its a failed part it should be fixed, the problem always seems to be getting them to admit it was a faulty part they always try to blame you for a bad clutch

That's what I assumed. According to my certified preowned warranty its not covered but technically I'm still under the factory warranty yet. Its aggravating.
What are available aftermarket clutch upgrades for the 2TR?
I've checked out LCE, and URD has nothing for the four cylinder. I wanna see all my options if I've gotta do it by myself down the road

I'm pretty sure there was a new (extended) TSB issued that covers up to trucks made before July 2012. I'll try to find it.

I would call URD if that's what you want, they definitely have a few different 2TR clutches, don't enter your vehicle info and you'll find it, also their is a pretty good write up on how to install a clutch on a 2TR in the second gen DIY section

I have a 2011 with 59k miles and have had the exact same issue. When it's 10or below mine will slip most often at 3/4 or more throttle. A link or info on the TSB would be great!

I called the dealer and the service guy was extremely helpful, he said that its not covered under warranty though. He said he couldn't find any tsb's at the moment but said that because of the low miles, they want to take some photos, and in a case like this there's a pretty high chance that Toyota will provide assistance if not pay for it all. And they'll even drive 75 miles to me to pick it up and provide a loaner free of charge.

Mine does the same thing, we just don't get down below 10 degrees very much. I was wondering if it was just ice in the fluid or the throw out bearing was seizing on the shaft (I need a urd sleeve kit, noisy TOB).

Keep us updated on the TOB being noisy, 2012s have the new TSB parts and aren't supposed to do that.
