Tacoma

Hello I`m Robert in upstate South Carolina. Bought myself a 2014 Tocoma TRD off road Dec. 24, 2013. It has 5 speed auto trans., off road pkg. and towing pkg. 4x4, Silver metallic, double cab, short bed, 4.0 V6. I got the Toyota 10 year 120,000 miles warranty, so I`m covered for life. I don`t think that I will do any mods to it. Will leave it all stock. This is my third truck. The other two were a new `96 Chevy S10. Traded it for a new `05 Chevy Colorado 5 cylinder. Both were 4x2s. Was looking for another Colorado but Chevy discontinued them until 2015. Friend kept stressing Toyota to me so I checked out the Tocomas. Found one I liked and bought it the next day. Didn`t get $$ that I hoped for the Colorado, but made the deal anyway. I`m happy with the Tacoma. I wanted a 4x4 because the 4x2s don`t go in the snow. No more paying to get towed for me. The Tacoma doesn`t get the mileage that the Chevys did, 27mpg. but the Tocoma is double cab and 4x4 so 21 mpg on interstate and 18mpg in town expected. The Tocoma CD player will only hold one CD compared to the Colorado CD player held six CDs. No locking gas door or gas cap available for the 2014 Tocoma. Had one on the Colorado. No lock on the Tocoma tailgate. Can get after market lock w/camera for about $90 I think, not including labor for body shop to install it right. That`s extra expense. I`m sure I will learn alot from this forum. - Robert
