I just bought a Warn vr10000s winch. The 2G power and control cables are pretty short since I want/need to mount the control box under the hood. I need to replace the main power run with a 10 footer and the other three will need to be replaced with some 5 footers. I found a few post of people taking a power loss to the winch and cables getting crazy hot due to the draw.

Do you guys have any experience or recommendations on this. Is it safe to replace these with 2G or should I bump this up?

    Much appreciated,

Thanks man, that's what I was looking at doing. I just wasn't sure if a 10ft run was too far for even a 0G cable.

The cable I linked you to is rated at 375A max @ 20'.

Warn includes 6' of 2G. 10' of 0 should be fine?

I had also reached out to Warn and just got a response back..

"For the main power, Warn uses a 2 gauge wire and you can go upto 24’ in an extension. If you need quick connects for this, youcan purchase a set of plugs under part number 22680. You shouldhave no problems. "

I'll probably still go with the 1 gauge and order from 2xpower.com since I'm lazy and always strapped for time.

Awesome info, thanks for spreading the knowledge. I'm gonna go with 0 gauge still as well if I've got to extend the leads
