Nice write up OP. Goes to show, take care of these trucks and they'll take care of you. Hope to see it hit 500,000...then we'll submit the story to toyota for future commercials.

    LOL.

It would have to be one hell of a fabrication.:D

Truck looks great. Enjoying the updates you post and wishing I had that kind of gas money available.

The local Volvo dealer is certifying an 88 740GLE as having hit 1,000,000 miles this week. He had a 200 mile commute, 5 days a week for much of that time. Very different vehicle, similar upkeep and almost all highway.

Looking forward to the 500K update!

mini antenna... I'm getting to it! Sheesh!
    Man... 350k... that's awesome.

I bought my first Toyota truck, used in 1978, with 135k on the clock. When I sold it in 1983 (to buy a new Toyota extended cab truck) it had 478k on it! When I sold the 1983 truck in 1992 it had 258k on it! The guy who bought it in 1991 STILL has it and runs it every weekend for his DJ business! it must have over 400k on it by now. These all had the venerable 22R motor in them.

For some silly reason I bought a 1991 Jeep Cherokee which was a lot of trouble and literally fell apart at about 130k.

My 2001 Tacoma had 234k on it when my ex-wife got it in the divorce... but don't feel bad because I bought a new 2009 Tacoma (totaled by a drunk driver less than a year later, grrrr) and then a new 2011 Tacoma 4x4 dbl cab TRD Sport... which I am sure will give me at least this many miles.

I will always be a Toyota Truck guy.

This is great to see. Great job taking good care of the truck. I am super anal about fluid changes and overall service and hoping it pays off. What fuel are you running as far as octane and brand? I don't think I will have a truck that long living in the rust belt but good to know they last.;)

That is correct, never towed in 350k miles, never stranded me, never broke down on road, 100% reliable.

You have sharp eyes. That is a Fram Ultra XG3600, as AutoZone was out of M1-209. The Ultra has synthetic media and is supposed to be decent.

Thats cool. My tacoma has about 240,000 miles on it. I know these trucks are very reliable and can last for a very long time

Again very awesome to get this kind of reliability.

I want to see my truck hit this goal.

Have you ever replaced your transmission fluid and how often?

How often do you replace the differential?

Especially interested in any transmission oil replacements as my dealer said Toyota didn't recommend replacing it as it was very problematic to do so.

I had 140K on my 2007 2X4 Tacoma when I traded it in for my 2014 4X4 (both are automatics) and myself and a couple of others were discussing this the other day. The dealership never changed transmission fluid or gear oil on the 2007 that I know of and I never had any issues at least to that point.

Original carrier bearing on rear driveshaft finally went bad at 351,993 miles and had to be replaced.

350K miles IS amazing and is testament to a lot of regular maintenance.

I just hope my Taco survives an upcoming trip to the dealer to address the valve spring recall. Sounds like major engine surgery to me. Only have 4800 miles on the ODO. I've really enjoyed the heck out of the truck so far.
