In my Tacoma I did a little off roading and when I got home I noticed this part disconnected, all I know is that it seems like a sensor but I have no idea where it came from. I have a V6 4x4... My check engine light isnt on and it drives normal. What part is this and any tips on how to fix it? Also am I still able to drive it if I had to?
    Thanks

Pictures not showing up. More information about your truck would be helpful. Year, engine, trans, etc.

Looks like an HID ballast to me. Any HID lighting installed?

Hid ballast, you have one headlight working and one that doesn't, turn on headlights, go to front of your truck, you will see what I am talking about....\

Since you have one still hooked up, you can figure out how to reconnect the other one...

Ballast are known to go out is it possibly previous owner left it there and you just never noticed it before. Don't sweat it to much. Look and see if there's dirt in the connectors to see if it's been there awhile

May have been an extra ballast "forgotten" in the engine compartment. The HID connectors are typically latched. Had the ballast been connected to anything, it would probably have ripped a wire.

Dude that's definitely, with out a doubt an HID ballast.
Where did you find in the engine compartment?
Maybe was once lost and now found ( amaaaaaazinggg graceee)
So maybe the previous owner dropped it and it landed somewhere and stayed until you unearthed it basically

And hey, if nothing else is going wrong, don't sweat the small stuff man. You just got an extra ballast now
