    Hi,

I just install new OEM Roof Racks in a 2014 Tacoma double cab TDR. There is a gap between the front rubber gasket and the windshield gasket of about 1/8". This only happens in the driver side. What can i do to eliminate the gap? I am concern about water intrusion, dirt buildup and I don’t like the appearance (since I know it’s there).

    Thanks for your help.

    Alfredo

hmm.... no clue - if it's installed correctly and you still have the gap, try some silicone to fill it or some window weld if you're concerned about water intrusion :notsure:

I think mine is flush with the windshield but if it wasn't I would fill the gap with some black silicone caulk

Just checked mine, no gap in that particular spot. I did read here about a gap that often exists when installing the oem roof rack which is visible from the SIDE, making the rack not looking flat to the trucks roof. that is solved by bending the racks metal installation bracket DOWNWARD before installation. I suppose you could reinstall it and see if that works, keeping in mind some of the washers contain a compressable mastic which should be replaced (silicone should be fine). torquing to specs is a good idea also. hope this helps.

yup passenger side has a gap too and read somewhere where you can bend that metal piece before install. it bothers me but not enough for me to uninstall it again. so far no leaks. going on maybe 5months now
