Been driving my truck as a DD since before December, and loving on it even more with the addition of the Duratracs. But, traffic had stucked even more now with the closure of Farrington Hwy (commute is only Kapolei to Waipahu), and my last 2 fillups show about 15mpg. Looks like it will go back to the weekend/beach vehicle and the CRV will be getting more usage.

HIDs are still a no no. But I heard they passed a few retrofits recently. And LEDs as in off-road? Or like signal bulbs?

got the same tires as you, and my best tank so far was 15mpg. i usually get 13-14 but thats because i do short trips and town traffic sucks!

technically if your vehicle did not come from the factory with HIDS is not legal. but you can get away with 5000k pure white and aim them lower and hide the ballast safety shouldnt get hassle. its the ones that are 6k and higher that are blue tinted and blinding you going fail. or you can just put hids and then take them out at safety time. the reason is OEM non HID headlamps arent designed for HIDS so they blind on coming traffic yet HPD is allowed to have aftermarket HIDS in their vehicles so technically they are blinding us on the roads.

LED exterior lights are still illegal signal/brake/reverse etc

Does anyone calibrate their odometer and speedometer to bigger tires? If so, how do you do it? Or is that uncommon to do?

    I used Hypertech 730107

a little tricky to figure out the correct ratios and I ended up leaving a USB cable connected to the control that I plug into my laptop so I don't have to pull the dash apart for future updates.

I ordered a set of 285/75/16 KM2's. My 265/75/16 KM2's will be up for grabs. They are still new. I just wanted the larger tires. I'm hoping I don't have to trim a bunch to fit the 285's.

Nope.. Just (awesome looking but bad rolling resistance) tires, more weight with a LB and camper shell, and stop and go traffic...not to mention the giant hill I live on kills mpg as well...
Weight of the sliders not gonna help out either..

If you getting 14 -15 boosted and with all your armor, I'm thinking I gotta do a tune up and maybe change my plugs... or move off the mountain...

Hey guys! Haven't posted on here in a while. I got a problem and wanted some feedback on what to check. I switched over to HIDs a few months ago (I didn't do a retrofit but did adjust the lights to aim lower), problem is the passenger side only works intermittently. I have already changed the ballast on that side and checked all connections. I am wondering if the relay is bad - any thoughts on what else it could be or how to check the relay? Thanks in advance.
