Warning light on 2012 Tacoma crew cab 4x4

This morning, I noticed, The Trac off and the service engine , Warning lights on. My service manual,pg.200, is not very specif on what to do. It tells me only that my traction( rear wheel, Positive Traction) some people call it. Is turned off. I leant my truck to a friend 2 days ago and he may of tried the anti slip button on / off while driving. and I believe that is what activated these warning lights.

What I did:
With the Truck stopped pushed the button for 3 sec. as the manual states,then one sec to reactivate it. Warning lights still on. I disconnected the battery for 5 min and cleaned the positive terminal. Replaced and started the truck.
No warning lights on.

 

I believe the Trac Off light come on by default if the CEL light comes on

You may have thrown a code for something as simple as a loose gas cap , happened to me

 

Gotta be related to the CEL. Anything you set with the traction control buttons is gone when you turn the truck off.

 

Disconnecting the battery resets the ECU. It could take some time to warn you about a potential problem

 

Thanks guy's. Will let you know,if it comes back. Checked the Gas Cap and ok.

 

That same warning light came on a couple weeks ago, It was my O2 sensor, Toyota warranty took care of the $450 bill!
