Why doesnt Toyota put more rebates out for the Tacoma?

This is something I never understood. When I bought my 2014 my dealer had mentioned Toyota is looking to get these trucks sold and on the road. But I have never seen any incentives or rebates for Tacomas ever in recent history. Mainly Camrys, Corollas, & Tundras.

Maybe its just my area and this is different elsewhere?

tacomas and 4runners dont need the incentives

i asked this question to many dealers, many have said in there car salesmen history they have never seen an incentive put on a Tacoma or 4runner but all year long on Corolla, Camery, Prius, Highlander etc....

As a Tacoma owner you do NOT want these rebates...your resale value is held up by the fact that these vehicles are not just given away by dealers to satisfy the masses..

As stated above. They sell so well, and are really the only good truck in the class so they don't need to encourage buyers to look at the Tacoma.

That's what gets me about chevy. The commercials on tv say starting at x price but then offers rebates of 7-8000 or something even more. If the trucks price is set at say 45000 and you can automatically take 10000 off the price, that says to me the truck is way overpriced.

    Which is true.

GMC will still be making money even after $8,000-10,000 off.

Just shows you how badly they markup full size trucks and why everyone is pushing you into one.

Because they sell easily. The tacomas locally don't sit on a lot more than a week. There were $1000 cash or a low finance % incentive at the end of 2010. That's about all I've seen for incentives though.

^^^^ This. The crazy resale value on tacomas is partially due to a lack of incentives/rebates.

LOL Seriously, you guys have a problem over there :D

But it's true for us here on the mainland too...today, I saw a Tacoma in a commercial for the first time since I've bought my truck (2 years) and it was just riding along a Tundra, which is what the ad was really for.

I guess if your keeping the truck until it dies you wished they would have a rebate, but if you only keep it for a few years you like the way it is.

Like others said they do not need to. I got one on my 2009 but it was perfect timing. Toyota was struggling with recession and stuck pedals.

When I bought my 2012 I got about $1,500 in rebates. A weak $500 was being given for all Tacomas at the time and an extra $1,000 for special editions, like the Texas Edition.

Like everyone else has said though, really no need for rebates as good as these things sell on their own.

When I bought my 2012, they had four incentive/rebates available, I only qualified for 3. I got the recent grad, USAA member, and Toyota Red tag rebate. Only one I didnt get was Active Military.
