Just ranting--now I need a tailgate reinforcment. I had a hack and a few other little things in the bed, and from rolling around, bent the sh!t out of my tailgate. It also broke the cover to my outlet. I'm starting to hate the idea of a plastic bedliner.

You do realize that's not a bed liner, right? That's the actual composite bed.

If you had something that heavy it did that much damage, probably should've secured it.

You'd be allowed to complain if you had a motorcycle or something on the tailgate that bent it while down...that's common and there are aftermarket options to reinforce the tailgate. Stupidity...well, just be glad whatever it was didn't become a projectile through the back window if you got into a wreck.

Woops...typos. I had a floor jack in the bed. Not going to be a projectile through anyone's windshield. It was in there with the tailgate up. I am going to have to order a reinforcement. I just can't believe that it bent it after that. I've seen a keg bend a bed on a f250 from accelerating into it--but not a floor jack.

Floor jacks are heavy and would put a lot of force into a very small area when they smash into something. It's worth the extra few minutes to secure your cargo. And, the projectile comment is very applicable. Loose cargo will fly in all sorts of directions in a crash. Sorry your truck got busted up.

Well the common sense wasn't strong in this one. Pretty much anything can become a projectile. You should always have your cargo secure regardless of how light or none damaging you think it is.

You really think a steel bed would have made any difference?
