My 97 taco seems to miss or something at low rpm's. It runs fine if I'm hauling a load or revving it up but just cruising it's like its not getting fuel or something. I have changed the plugs and air filter. Trying to change the fuel filter. Used injector cleaner and fuel treatment to no avail. Help me please.

Check air hoses including the pcv valve. Also check your fuel pump. I had that too and it was both my pcv valve and fuel pump

If everything listed above fails, take a look at your ignitors. My rig was giving me fits, doing the exact same thing. It ended up being 2 of the 3 ignitors were going bad. Because it seems like your rig does well under load, but not cruising, you might have the same problem.

By 'ignitors', you mean spark plugs?

    Ahh. Thanks.
Some call them coils, but ignitors make sense as well.
OP could have a weak one, for sure.

Already forget what injector cleaner but it was put in the fuel tank. How can I check the coils? I have a pretty good multimeter. The vacuum lines all appear good but I will take a closer look. The cats were a thought but my mechanic buddy said I would smell them or they would be hot enough to glow. The air filter is also new.

Could be carbon build up or dirty injectors. Problem is and talking from experience over the counter stuff doesn't work as well. A lot of your cleaners aren't much more than gas with cleaners. Without doing a titration test (which measures the detergency) its hard to show you the difference.

I am a BG rep in Socal, with that said BG 44k in the tank works well as well as the CF5. But to do a good through decarb you need to go in through the throttle body with a pressurized canister that fogs the product into the intake.

    Check it out at bgams.com
