Hello everyone. Just realized I never posted an intro thread. I picked up a 2014 AC TRD Offroad a few weeks ago. Enjoying having some ground clearance so far, especially with the snow we have been getting.

The day I brought it home:

Sitting on 265/75r16 BFG All terrains:

Poor pictures, but it looks like every other stock silver Tacoma. Hopefully get some good pictures once the snow is gone and I can spend more time in the mountains.

Hey MuddyTRD...congrats on your new truck - nice ride! New here too-first post -I've been lurking for a while and getting some great info reading everyone's posting of mods and other stuff....great site .
Anyway, Question for you (and anyone else who wants to chime in). After 20+ years .chasing rust on my fj60 I decided its time.... I am a few weeks away from pulling the trigger on a 2014 access cab trd off road. My use of truck is mostly beach (surfing and fishing) plus a few times to my camp each year up in Maine on loggin roads- no Moab stuff on east coast unfortunately. We do have northeast winter though like this year-55" snow so far. So here are my thoughts:
    6 cyl
    Off road package
    Tints
    Stock wheels (for now)
    Convenience package
    Skid plate
    Bed cover
    Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome. I am located in Farmington and range all over the western mountains.
Tedstrat that's about what I'm going with in general. Definitely suggest getting better tires and spending the money on recovery and vehicle protection. Seems to be a very capable truck out of the box.

Sounds good Muddy....did you go with any undercarriage protection? I hear mixed things but with all the salt in the ne I may look into it.

I haven't yet, I intend to look into that fluid film stuff before next winter. It would probably be nice to fully undercoat it with something but that's $$$ I would rather spend on my big jeep project.
