Tacoma Tick??

2013 TRD offroad less than 7000 miles. Update last week I posted a video of a knocking in my engine. I took it to the service dept and they couldn't hear anything (of course). On way home from that appointment I stopped by autozone and bought Seafoam and topped off the gas tank with premium gas, thinking maybe water in the tank. My has been running like a top since adding those items.

Today (60 degrees and exactly one week later) I heard this while loading my kids in the truck. Is this the tacoma tick or something serious?

 

It sounds like the tick to me.

my 2013 v6 sounds exactly the same...I used to open up my hood all the time thinking it was knocking

 

I go through a tunnel twice a day for work, every sound is amplified. I turn up the radio and drive on.

 

Haha! There is a difference between a knock and a tick. If you've ever heard an engine knock it's a noise that you don't forget. It's kind of like someone that can't drive a manual transmission, grinding through the gears. And if your vehicle is knocking with how old your vehicle is, I'd be heading back to the dealership. I wouldn't be waiting for an answer from here, I'd be wanting answers from the dealership.
