I wouldn't trust one on the bike unless it's protected on the back of the pan.
I've smacked my pan on speed bumps... hate to think of a 1" valve under there (and I drain from the oil strainer anyways).

F103 is the part number that fits our trucks. F103N if you have a skid plate and want the hose nipple. The valve sits high enough to be protected by the frame either way, but I still prefer the plain valve if I don't need to use a hose.

I have a trd sport with leather, does that mean someone who purchased the truck before me added it? or can you order it that way

They do. I bought a plain and simple 4x4 TRD OR from a dealer here in Austin with (surprisingly) no hassles. The only dealership in Texas I've talked to who didn't try to sell me on how "awesome" the TForce package was. I was told by a dealership that they could put the TRD OR stickers and aftermarket e-locker on the TForce truck. Ummm...no thanks.

I was in your shoes and you want the Limited all the way. I love mine. The leather, heated seats, HomeLink mirror, Entune radio makes it worth it. TRD Sport does not have the leather, heated seats and mirror but they look cool. You need to see a Limited to see the features it has over the TRD Sport. Don't let others tell you otherwise. I'm sure you don't want aftermarket stuff and Limited package is top of the line Tacoma.

Yeah being that I swapped for a box head plug and it's a Vic so oil swaps are a breeze.
Since my toyo dealer is throwing in the next three services free I have some time yet to consider the valve. I certainly don't mind the 100k/7yr drivetrain warranty they throw in on their clean used cars also. Gonna have years of worry free fun hopefully with my tow confirmed sporty. She'll do a bunch more lumber, mulch and fertilizer duty though than towing I bet.

Possibly added, but maybe you can buy the TRD Sport in the Limited package, which would still have the body colored exterior trim pieces of the Sport, but the other "goodies" of the Limited.

Do you have the auto-dimming mirror or not?

Nope, no auto dimming mirrors, no heated seats. Its a 2005 ive had it for about a year, and the leather was wore in the drivers seat pretty good so i just assumed it came factory. Ive been putting off getting the seat re-wraped because the local shop wanted almost 600 to redo just the driver seat.

The Limited has the power plug in the bed like the TRD Sport/Off-road. Sport has painted handles and mirror's with the blinker. Off-road has non painted plastic mirror with no blinker, regular handles. Limited has chrome handles and mirror's with blinker in them. Sport looks the best, but if you don't mind the chrome, the Limited has the most options. No other model has factory leather other than Limited.

Oh... '05, they were part of the Sport package.
The Limited didn't come out until a couple of years ago.

I would have gone for the TRD Sport since I like the painted look the most but it did not have the leather, heated seats or home link mirrors. Other than going aftermarket, those are exclusive to Limited package.

I imagine if a guy really dug the rest of the truck I wouldn't let no leather be a deal breaker. The aftermarket leather kits look pretty slick.

    +1

I get a kick out of the "What do you hate about your Tacoma" thread.
People nit-picking the hell out of the truck... when owners of some other manufacturers are simply happy that their vehicles start in the morning.

Latest JD Powers Initial Quality reports came out a few days ago and once again, Toyota/Lexus (and Honda/Acura) take 2 of the top 10 slots for fewest problems reported per 100 new vehicles.
Chrysler/Jeep dominate the bottom 50% with 3 below industry average and Ram barely edging above 50% by 3.

Surprisingly, Scion remains in the bottom 50%, but has moved up 25% from last year... no longer dead last, Fiat, Mini, and Smart all moved down to the bottom 3.

umm... i honestly dont know why anyone gets anything between the SR5 and the TRD off road...

if you want to build it up, get the SR5 and make it your own.... if you want a damn capable truck get the off road for factory locker and a track....

OP, 4 door with long bed is a long truck with a rather large turning radius. Not sure if that matters for you or not, but it did for me. Regardless, they are all nice trucks.

I bought one of those Pre runner Xspx Taco's a few months back. Wish I would have waited and bought a 4x4 - any version.... I won't go into all the negatives about this truck, sure there are other threads to do that...just stay away from the xspx! Can't wait to trade it off on something else....

I almost made the same mistake.
I just don't understand why Toyota supes up a prerunner like that. Trade it in for a 4wd & go have some fun

My XSP-X is a 4x4. Most of my driving is around town so I appreciate the more comfortable ride, but I do take it hunting and it works fine. I have another thread going on this, but I just traded my TRD Sport 2WD for the XSP 4WD. I had made my TRD Sport look like an XSP and then the dealership has a sale and for the delta I paid I thought it was worth it to get the 4WD with the extra bling (mainly the rims, tires and predator bar). I can see your point, however, I would not have paid the extra money for a non-4WD XSP.

I'm very much digging my TRD Sport.. Love the color match. I suspect it's got a fairly good suspension, though I've not really gotten a chance "YET" to get it offroad, but that's coming.. Oh yes, it will be done. :)

Considering de-badging it.. Whata ya think? (Removing the big bed decals). Would it be sinful or taboo? Did it on my 2008 Civic Si Sedan and never looked back.

You can buy LED headlights that basically just drop in. Brighter, have that "white" look you want (5000K color) and cost about $150 for a set. http://www.lifetimeledlights.com/ They aren't quite as bright as HIDs I'm told, but they just drop into the stock housing without needing to invest in projectors and re-aiming your headlight assemblies.

I have a TRD Sport with the hood scoop, cloth seats, and nothing of mine is color matched. It's red with grey plastic fenders and grill. What's the deal?
