    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Tacoma scene as I just got my 2010 reg cab 4x4 last week and I'm eager to get to work on it. Unfortunately I'm on a budget and can't just go out and buy everything I want at the moment. I'd appreciate some advice as to which means of lifting the truck would be better for the time being; ome 884 coils and rear aal, or bilstien 5100s and rear aal? Ideally I would just buy the full ome kit but I can't swing the funds for it right now. I'm leaning towards the coil lift because I can add the ome shocks later and have a very well rounded lift. I'm not sure if I'm missing something because it seems that most people on this board opt for the 5100s.

My current goal is just to get the truck up enough I can fit 33s on it. I'd like to get it lifted soon and put a set of 285/75/16 duratracs on it before the snow falls. In the spring I'd add the ome shocks and maybe in the summer regear and add a rear locker if funds allow for it!

I'm coming from driving a leveled f150 so I'm really itching to get this truck sitting up a bit higher, just feels too small at stock height. Aside from that I'm loving it and 21mpg is a definite bonus!

Please let me know what you guys think about going with the coil lift instead of the strut lift. Thanks in advance!

OME complete kit w/ 885s on Nitrocharger Sports, 1/4" spacers, Dakars w/ Nitrocharger Sports, LR UCAs, 265/70-17, Duratracs, G4 Elite tonneau, Weathertech Window Deflectors, Weathertech digital floor liners, factory JBL/Entune, rear differential breather relocate.
You can't just buy the 884 coils. I don't believe they will work with the stock shocks. Of your options listed you'll need to get 5100s and the AAL. That's a very nice set-up. If you set the 5100s at 2.5, it'll be kind of stiff though. The best set-up would be 5100s and the 884 springs if you can swing a little more.

I'd go with the bilstein 5100s and eibach coils with a 2" add a leaf. That's what I have and I'm very satisfied with it. It gave me the full 3inchs up front

on a 2nd gen eibach coils will give you 1.6'' lift add the 5100s set at .85 (1st setting is the highest most will recommend you should go) you will have about a 2.5'' lift up front with this set up.

Get further advise on the duratracs as you might have to do minor trimming.

What size eibachs are you using? I have billys and am looking to get the 3 1/2 inch coils then set the billys to 0. Does that sound right...?

I have the eibach coils from toytec. It gave me the full 3inch lift on the lowest setting on the 5100s. It's a great setup, I deff recommend them.

i had that same kit on my 2005 Tacoma dblcab 4x4 with the 885 coils. call Toytec and ask about the 884s versus the 885s. hard to beat that price, but when you lift and put biggers tires on your mileage will suffer.

Alright thanks man. Did your 2" leaf lift level it out or is it squating?

it leveled it out perfectly. i might get a 1'' rear shackle in the future...only because I like the rear of the truck higher than the front
