Grill question

I see all of these people doing grills on tacomas but they lay fiberglass and all that, called satoshi? I just want a good looking grill without having to do that. I was looking at grill craft and t-rex inserts. Can you just cut out(or something else) the factory grill and put in one of these other ones? Pictures of it would help. Thanks

 

Thanks, I wouldn't mind the deep dish look but I don't think I'm capable of making it but since he does it thats pretty convenient.

 

Grille craft black mesh grille. Looks very similar to satoshi except you don't have to do as much work. I paid 180$ for mine. Just remove the grille, cut the center section out and install new grille thats already preformed. I then found an 80's small toyota emblem off an old pickup and glued it on the grille. very easy and only took me about 1 1/2 hours. comes with directions, but its self explanatory.

 

I'm not a fan of the satoshi, so I used the GrillCraft MX grill, upper and lower. All you have to do is cut out the inside of the grill, and screw in the insert. I would show you mine, but my truck was recently in an accident, and I get to redo the install, as the body shop left it to me to do. I asked them to do that, as I like projects like this. I also have an old FJ Cruiser emblem that I painted body color to fit in the middle of the grill, to give it a personal touch.

T-rex makes Nice grills and real easy to install

 

Used the Grillcraft MX upper grill. Popped out OEM grill, cut the inside per Grillcraft's instructions, and then set the new Grillcraft in. Then used an old Land Cruiser emblem to finish. Super easy! Just cost about 200 total (including emblem), but adds a unique finish!
