I have an 06 tacoma 4x4. It no longer has the sensors in the wheels. is there a way to shut off the low tire light without removing the dash.

I haven't had sensors since I drove off the lot 5 years ago. I don't even notice the light.

Do the tape fix in that link you were provided. It's very easy, It's reversible and it looks like it was never there. You'll love it!

It's always better to not cut up wires when you don't have to. Lower your steering wheel. Take out the two screws on the top of the instrument cover. remove the cover. Take out the four 10mm screws holding in the speedo/gauge unit and pull it forward. remove wire plugs. (Just a couple.) Place the gauge cluster on your lap and take out the screws holding on the clear plastic cover. Remove clear plastic cover. The gauge cover sheet can be lifted with a finger or fingernail enough to slide a sliver of card board, like a piece of a business card, under the sheet and over the hole where the TPMS! warning light is. The left blinker arrow is also right there. Don't cover it. Re-install everything. This whole operation takes less than a half hour! (more like 10 minutes) It requires a phillips head screwdriver, a 10mm socket with a small extension on a ratchet or a 10mm nut driver and that's it! No more light and nothing is modified or damaged.

I found the steps on toyotanation's site, did this last weekend and worked great!!!!

    http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/6...48-disabling-tpms-tpms-light-2006-tacoma.html

I bought a used 2006 about 3 weeks ago, one of the wheels didn't contain a TPMS sensor, so the light was on. I worked through the mod above and it worked like a charm.

Toughest part was accessing the TPMS moduel befind the dash.
I will note this dude must have some small hands because I was unable to get to the TPMS module to then pull off and up off that bracketfor access... There was a 10mm nut that held it to the frame, I used a small 45' socket adapter to take that off and then the TPMS module shifted up. From which I still had to use small odd looking angled screw drivers to pry and pop the the male plug out of the TPMS module. Finally pulled that up to get some access to it and snipped the blue wire, crimped it with another wire with a fish eye connector and then used an existing 10mm bolt to a ground on the body. ( used a different ground than the link shows, but as long as it is a ground it should work ) - Boom TPMS light is gone.

Note, I also had to take out the radio which is cake, I think 10mm bolts, it pops out and then disconnect the 4 male plugs. I then also removed the main center console (automatic truck) which then allowed me to gain access from underneath that module. Seems like a lot of work but everything was put back together in about 5 minutes, it just made things simplier when you are digging down trying to gain access to that male plug on the TPMS module. Again if you have small fingers you might not need to take these other parts off.

    Good luck.

To each his own. There are a couple of ways to arrive at the same end. I like the business card way because it doesn't involve cutting or modifying anything, is SUPER simple and is just as easily reversible. Watch....Ten minutes. Done forever.

Did you tape the inside of the gauge or place tape on the clear plastic. What are you unhappy with?
