Ok I have this noise coming from what I think could be the exhaust manifold or motor mount?? It is not all the time and I cant recreate in parked and revving it up. It sounds kinda of like loud wind noise or intake grumble. It only happens at low rpms ~1200k and then as soon as I let off the gas it goes away!? It is driving me nuts!!!! What are your thoughts?

video/audio would be helpful. The Tacoma needs an encyclopaedia for all the noises it makes!

very possibly an exhaust leak... but your description may need some work in order to help determine the actual cause.. Exhaust leaks can take on a bunch of different sounds depending on where in the exhaust leak actually is. I'd recommend checking the bolts on the manifold to make sure they are tight. and obviously do a good visual and look for any soot deposits around the mating surfaces (between the head and exhaust for example) for obvious signs of leaks.

Sooo, the intake tract will make noises, especially if its not stock!

Do you have a cold air intake?

Keep in mind there are small water empty ports in the main stock box, and are there for water drainage in case of a flood and standing water.

Likewise, have you checked the tightness of your clamps on the intake?

Jack up the rear end and have a friend accelerate while you listen for noise.

Could it be a skid plate or exhaust vibrating on something?

Waiting for this Ohio valley weather to make up its mind. Now its snowing. Its not a skid plate, I would think that would make a metal noise. This sounds like the exhaust gets loud and then goes away.
