I have seen many aftermarket AM/FM radio antennas and am wondering if they actually make a difference in reception quality or not. I have seen a few that were around $20, but am not sure which one to look at if I'm considering one. I couldn't find any threads with this question so if anyone could direct me to the right thread or answer with personal experience then that would be great.

I am mainly considering this because my radio reception goes in and out all the time and this is the first vehicle I have had a problem with that and its quite annoying.

Any aftermarket antenna mast on your truck will make it worse. If your reception is cutting in and out it could be time for a new oem ant base assy. If your truck is 4+ years old it's definitely a possibility...especially if you live on the coast.
