Advice on a new purchase, having issues

Second verse, same as the first. Same story, same experience.

Looking for pyrite, 2014, v6, off road, auto transmission, tow package, access cab.

Plenty of double cabs.
Don't you want a double cab? No.
Double cabs are better! Yes, but I don't want one.
How about a double cab? No thank you.
No need to be rude, sir...how about a a quote for a double cab?

I get these are hard to find, and double cabs are plentiful. A free market capitalist might think that Toyota would want to start making more Access Cabs and less Doubles, and make more money in the process...but that just seems to be twisted troll logic.

Finally put in an order in November. Jacked around for 2 months, before the configuration was finally "accepted." That was a month ago. I wonder if they are going to make our trucks at the same time...or maybe they're only going to make one and throw the two of us into Thunderdome to see who gets the truck?

 

I think that they probably only paint the less popular colors a few times a year in big batches. I have noticed my dealer will go a long time without a pyrite or blue or radiant red tacoma, then have 3 or 4 for a little while, then they disappear again. You probably need to catch them when they make a batch.
Although, at those jacked up prices, I would consider finding one somewhere else and flying out to drive home if you can get a better price...presuming you can ever find one!
