We're going to buy a new Tacoma. We'll be using it for local as well as long trips. How is the ride in the Access Cab TRD Sport compared with the SR5? Also, is there a difference in ride between the Access Cab and the Double Cab with the longer bed?

I have a 13 Sport DC and my dad has a 13 SR5 Access cab 4cyl. Mine rides a lot better IMO. The seats are also a lot more comfortable.

I've found that they're not all that comfortable for long trips due to low seat height and lack of available adjustments. Road trips are do-able, but you'll find yourself constantly trying to readjust your legs to get comfortable.

My wife and I love using the Tacoma as a trip truck because of how comfortable it is. Personally I think the TRD seats are way more comfy than the regular seats.

I've taken the dclb sr5 on trips up to 9 hours and haven't heard anyone in the truck complain about the ride or the seats. I'm running a lift and it's a firmer ride than stock. With a stock suspension I can't see anyone complaining about it for road trips. Even lifted it's going to ride good loaded down with everything for a trip. To me the sr5 seats are more comfortable than the TRD seats.

I have put 20,000 miles on my first year with my trd sport and alot of those miles were driving from Sandiego Ca to Upstate Ny...I had no problem driving 18 hour stretches to get here.

I would stop for gas every 300 miles and use the restroom, did a quick stretch to get the blood pumping...love my seats

Personally i like my sr5 seats better then the trd seats. I just put wet okele seat covers on front and back and couldn't be happier.

I had an 09 SR5 cab and a 1/2 4x4. I had it lifted a couple of inches it rode a little stiffer than my new 2013 DCSB 4X4 stock TRD. I mostly think the ride difference was in the lift. The SR5 was confortable for me. I took long trips in it and I am 5'10". The DCSB has leather seats and is just as comfortable. Seat wise there was no difference.

I have a TRD Sport DBC PreRunner and my son has a SR5 Access Prerunner, his is smoother almost cushy, mine ride is a little "tighter" the difference is the TRD has 17" wheels (lower profile tires) and "sport" shocks. I like mine better locally and his for longer trips. I like his longer bed for hauling too.

Removed factory bed cover and installed UnderCover Elite. Added LOCKERDOWN console safe.
Bought the TRD for the seats over the SR5. For the longer rides in retirement.

I would rather take my 12 across country than a Lexus LS (as long as you're paying for the gas).
