A few years ago I did the AC off with defrost mod on my 2010 disconnecting and splicing the green wire into the pink one, within a day or two of performing the mod my AC had lost a significant amount of refrigerant and stopped working. I reversed the mod and recharged my AC. At the time I was afraid that the mod somehow let the system over pressurize and caused a leak. It has had a slow leak ever since (have to recharge once a year... hopefully will have the funds to get it checked out and fixed come spring). I'm really annoyed with having my AC on all the time in the winter considering how dry the air is here and would like to re-do the mod.

I just want to poll people who have done this mod. Have you had any similar issues or was I an isolated incident? Considering how many people have done the mod successfully I'm thinking maybe it was just a coincidence with the timing of the mod and my AC problems. I performed the mod exactly as described in this thread.

I'm just trying to get some numbers on how many people have/haven't had problems before I re-do the mod

There is no relationship between this mod and you developing a leak a day or two later. Just coincidence.
