    Hey guys,

New owner from Ottawa, Canada. I've spent nearly 6 months researching the Tacoma, relying heavily on this forum to gather my knowledge. Thanks to all those who continue to post anything and everything related to this great truck!

I pulled the trigger on a 2014 TRD Sport Double cab (long box) last week. Just waiting for the dealer to find the exact vehicle (in black), hoping to hear something soon! After waiting nearly 6 months to make a deal I figured waiting the 1-2 weeks for them to locate the truck would be an easy wait, but I'm constantly checking my phone for missed calls :D

This won't be my first truck, I had a Nissan Frontier extended cab (2005) and an F150 FX4 (2009). The Frontier was too small, the F150 was too big (well, just the gas tank really)...looks like the Tacoma will be just right!

I'll post up a few pics when the truck arrives!

Lesson learned, waiting to pull the trigger on a Tacoma will only result in an even longer wait to actually get the truck. As noted in my original post I spent the better part of 6 months researching and trying to figure out exactly what I wanted and a couple of weeks on the negotiations etc. Just heard today that the dealer can't find the truck I want in the existing inventory network, boo!

The silver lining is that apparently they were able to earmark one that's currently in production and they're expecting it to be available before xmas (Texas to Toronto to Ottawa + prep = 3 weeks). In the grand scheme of things I guess 3 weeks isn't all that bad to get exactly what I'm looking for...damn this instant gratification we're so used to these days!

I'm assuming when they say "earmark" it's an official registration that they want that truck and not just a post it note reminding them to check again when it gets delivered to another dealer.

Agreed, the dealer confirmed today that the truck has been officially reserved! This is going to be a long 3 weeks :D:D:D

True enough, I've actually received the first parts for the truck today. Received my 3DMaxpider mats (front and rear) and a hard tri-fold tonneau cover (Tonneaupro).

There are a few TRD accessories I'd like, but the costs here in Canada are crazy compared to the US/online prices . Unfortunately the size of the items (i.e. bed mat, skid plate, exhaust) is such that shipping becomes expensive bringing it within +/- $10 from Canadian prices. Might just wait to visit a dealer in the US during my next visit south of the border.

Too late to hide his cash or credit cards. Three weeks of looking at Mods here on the forum will test anyone's willpower.

Best wishes with your new Tacoma. I hope you enjoy your vehicle as much as I do mine, and I am certain you will.

...add the new pop & lock 5400 to the list of mods purchased before I've seen the truck!

Just received a call from the dealer this evening saying the truck has finally arrived. I'm scheduled to pick it up on Monday evening. They have to apply the undercoating and rust proofing treatments so it's longer than the typical 24hr turn around. Can't wait!!!

Just ordered a new skid plate from our fellow forum member as well (TRD stamped plate).

Awesome! Hope the delivery went well. I live in the west end but drive downtown for work via Carling and the parkway so if you see a black DCLB heading eastbound in the morning and westbound in the evening give a wave!
