So I got an HID kit from DDM tuning. I have yet to install it, which I will update this when I do. The product is ordered in a specific way so that it will optimally work for a Tacoma.
I ordered a DDM HID kit with slim balast.
    55W balast.
    D2S bulb (for retrofit).
6000k color (to match white led's).
    Dual in-dual out harness.
    error eliminators.
    Total cost = ~$80+~$22 shipping = ~$102.

The first problem was that the shipping is way off. From what they tell me it should take no longer than 12 business days considering this stuff comes straight out of china (48 hours to process, 3-5 business days avg shipping time, as much as 7-10 business days). I ordered on 1/12/14. I figured I would get it at latest 1/27/14 considering I ordered on a Sunday and there was a federal holiday. I finally got it on 2/1/14.

Problem 2: The box it came in was very small and looked like it was kicked from china, the contents were very tightly packed in with no insulating material resulting in broken wires and clips. I contacted DDM Tuning and opened a ticket to report the problem the same day (2/1/14).

Problem 3: After opening the ticket, the issue was not resolved until 2/6/14. After opening a ticket, an automated message says that I will receive a response within 24-48 hours (I assumed during business days). Point being that this was resolved a few days later than anticipated.

On a positive note: I did get replacement parts for free of charge without having to return the broken parts. These replacement parts were shipped on 2/6/14 and received on 2/15/14.

Despite having issues with shipping on the first order, the second set of parts were also put in a small box with no packing material. Fortunately they all made it in one piece.

Question: The only issue I see with the replacement parts (one of them being a replacement harness) is that the original harness had a 80 Amp relay while the replacement has a 40 Amp relay. I know this can cause issues if the wrong one is used so which is best?

*Currently the parts are sitting in a box waiting to be tested and installed. I live in NJ and it has not stopped snowing,so its not fun to work outside. I plan to work on this and test all the parts this weekend coming up. Hopefully the bulbs are in good condition and I do not run into anymore problems.

**This review is not to bash DDM Tuning, I am not giving opinions just telling the facts of my experience with the company. I have heard many good reviews about them hence why I chose them. My situation with broken parts and delayed shipping I think was on the china end of things. I can only imagine that the parts DDM has in stock in their CA location is looked at by quality control before being shipped. They did not hesitate to send me new parts when I asked and supplied pics of the broken parts.

Again, I will update when I install everything.

I'm strolling tacomaworld seeing if anybody has had the problems I've had. I got my DDM kit less then a year ago, and the ballasts are already overheated. I get intermintent high speed flickering from both sides. I've also had to combat broken connectors, and my left ballast has always given me problems with firing the bulb. In my opinion, DDM kits are junk. I'm sending it back to get an entire new replacement kit
