I dont know too much about lifts, but looking into getting bilstein 5100s for my truck. I want to raise the front end about 2 inches is all just to level it out and I've heard the bilsteins are good because they are adjustable. Things to know before doing it, like ride quality, damaging effects of lifts, etc.?

Bilstein 5100s on my truck right now. The current ride now compare to how it was when I still had the stock junks that came with the truck is like comparing days and nights. Stockers will never get back on the truck again as long as I still own it.

changing the suspension geometry of your truck will cause wear on it, but with proper maintenance it's kinda a non-issue

main problem people have are burst CV boots from the added angle of the axle from the lift

there's tons of people putting 1xx,xxx miles on lifts with little problems

Wear and tear depends on how high you are lifting and how you drive it. 2 in lift isn't too bad for wear and tear. Each truck is different. See if you have any noise or vibrations after the lift, sure sign the angles are not correct. Many ways to fix it though. Do some research and you will find out different ways to fix it.

It certainly isn't something that prolongs the trucks life, but should be that bad in the end

I've seen Tacomas go well over 200,000 miles, do lifted Tacos not live as long? When you guys refer to maintenance, what are you checking/maintaining, and how often do you do it?

no lift. I like my truck the way it is at this point. Any lift/mods beyond what I've done up to this point will only make my truck less street/gas/wallet friendly :D:D.

Mine has been lifted for 2+ years now and I have done nothing but regular stuff. I check out whats going on all the time myself under the truck but it all seems fine. Lots of people will be able to help you though
