I have a 3' rough country lift that came with new shocks for the back but not the front. Just the coil spacers for the front. I was looking at bilsteins but I could only find them for a 2.5' lift. I wanna get new shocks for the front so what should I do? If I buy the new shocks do I have to take my current lift off or can I just put the shocks on with my coil and spacer?

if you want to keep the spacer lift, you will only need the regular Toyota shocks.

if you want to cheaply upgrade from the spacer lift, you will need to get the bilstein 5100's (these are adjustable up to 2.5" of lift) and then remove the spacer. you can also keep the spacer lift but set the bilsteins at 0" of lift.

either of these options is about the same amount of work.

The ride was a little rough when I got the truck but after I put the lift on it made it worse! Makes loud noises when hiting bumps. Its bareable but id like to fix it, its my taco where talking about here. If I just put the stocks bilsteins on do you think it would fix the problem

ya, a rough ride is what you get with a spacer lift. is the spacer on top of the coil or inside the coil? did you get a full 3 inches of lift with the spacer? I doubt you have a set of after-market upper control arms, right? as a guess, I bet your UCA is hitting your coil. posting pictures would give everyone a better idea of your setup and what may be going on.

you are better off getting a shock and a coil made for a lift. this will give you a better ride than the spacer. and if you go for a full 3 inches of lift, you really should get a set of after-market UCA's.

Netmonkey is all over it. If you lift with spacers, you get a rough ride. Anything more than 2 inches of lift you probably need new UCAs so you get your alignment right.

I would go with new shocks and lifting springs like OME or another type. Search through the suspension forum, read about several different types, and choose what you want to do.
