I've got a Vertex 4 in my gaming rig at home. Same thing.

    BLAZINGLY fast.

The rest of my hardware is over 2 years old now and even beta new games don't make me sweat. Boot for me is 18 seconds to start menu (no login prompt)

I have spindle media for old, slow crap and storage. The SSD is so silly fast I can't even describe it right.

True dat, but you also don't sit down and choose whether to play KSP, Skyrim, Civ5, EQ or the ESO beta or the MWO beta all at max settings from a local install on that either ;)

That should be possible to do in Windows. Not the whole OS, but there are utilities to load somethings to a RAM disk.

I am, actually. Just patched up again last night.

I've not had any problems so far in any of my sessions with ESO, knock on wood. PM me if you wanna chat about hardware, drivers, etc or anything.

Can't wait to get my 32" monitor setup. Maybe I'll run my 37" next to it too. :D (both are 1080p TVs)

I go to ninite.com and get the start menu they have. It works just like win 7 and actually make win 8 usable again.

without the start menu, Win 8 is completely useless for me.

Ninite is a great site. Been a fave of mine for years. Makes fresh OS installs a breeze.

I have 1 cat 5 eithernet cable going to my AV set up. I'm currently using a manual switch for inputs to TV, Xbox, DVD, AV Amp. Would an automatic switch like the link below allow all to work without manual switching?

Every time I take a picture with an iPhone/pad the f-ing thing post up-side-down!

Not sure I fully understand the question. A manual switch for the ethernet? A network switch is like a smart hub. It takes one connection and splits it to other connections simultaneously. You would need one cable from you WAN (Internet/modem/router), and a cable for each of your devices (up to 4 for the switch you've shown). It doesn't act like a HDMI switch if that's what you're thinking.

Let me try this again. I have a cat 5 cable (Internet) coming from my router to the manual switch in my family room. That cable/switch provides hard wired internet to my TV, Xbox, DVD & AV amp. Instead of manually switching outputs I would like the have an automatic switch that feeds all at once. I find the hard wired connection is better for Netflix and my Xbox and AV amp don't have wifi connecability.

    Would something like this work?

Yes that would work. I've never even seen a manual ethernet switch before :notsure:
