Greetings folks! Prep-ing to do fluid changes in my 2008 4X4 Tacoma SR5. Label on dif states "LSD oil only". Manual states to use SAE 90 LSD API GL-5 lube. Haven't been able to find straight 90 at any of my local auto parts stores. My question is, before I make the over an hour drive to the nearest Toyota dealership and hock my first-born to buy their 90 w lube, is there any other lube alternative for me to use? I am not adverse to using straight synths as I've run Mobil 1 oil in all my Toyota trucks since 1987 (still wish I had that one!) with very good results. Keep in mind that I'm in Central Florida and the temp here in the summer is brutal.....(My 2009 Taco is just so much easier as far as F/R dif and transfer case lube rqmts.!) Thanks in advance for the advice and/or recommendations.

75w90 with a bottle of LSD additive will be perfect.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
A 75-90 is fine. Make sure it has the LS additive.

You can still get Mobile 1 LS. I get mine on Amazon for $12 and its a 75w-90 with the limited slip additive. Have it in both my transfer case, and both front and rear diffs on my 07 since forever (about 2009). I highly recommend it!

I've also heard good things about Amsoil "Redline" 75-90 gear oil. You'd have t add the LS additive yourself.

The only way to ensure you won't get chatter is to fill the LSD with 80W-90 dino and a tube of this:
