My truck didn't come with fog lights but did come with the button for them in the cab. Was wondering how hard it would be to install fog lights and wire them correctly. If any has any knowledge on this please help.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Look to see if you have the wiring for it, which I would believe you would if there is a switch. The housings themselves are extremely easy to install if that is all you need.

I got my first 4x4 in 1972...haven't been without one! I still like Chrome!
My 08 SR5 was like yours with no fog lights, mine didn't have the switch and was not wired for fog lights, I bought a switch at a junk yard.. Check your switch and make sure something else isn't wired to it...

Check the link, this is how I installed mine back when my truck was new. I bought the lights on Ebay and made my own wiring harness. I found the plug in's for the fog lights at a junk yard. I soldered all wiring connections and sealed with heat shrink. The box was found at Radio Shack like it said on the tutorial.. I wired mine from the radio fuse so that I could run them as daytime running lights with the headlights off.. In 36,000 miles of driving, my driving lights have never been turned off.

    Good luck..

If he has a DC I'll bet he is pre-wired,

All the RCs I have seen are not though,

You can look up under the bumper and see if you see the wires and ends for the lights to plug into.

if you pop the switch out and find a harness attached your golden.

Good luck, I hope you are pre-wired!

    Yeah.
My '09 had the wires, but I had to add the factory switch and the relay. If it has the wires and the switch, check to see if it has the relay (black box by the battery). I got lights off of eBay that are direct replacements, but they leaked. I got another set and put some silicone around the lens to keep moisture out.

I ordered the factory switch and relay online from Toyota of Dallas.

I've checked under the bumper and haven't seen any wiring but I'll check again. If the wiring is there will it run all the way up to where the plastic inserts are?

:notsure: Try checking behind the switch to see what wiring is behind there.

    Yeah.
There should be some connectors taped up near where the bumper inserts are. They were pretty obvious on my '09, and you have to remove the tape to stretch them out and connect them.

My 09 tacoma doesn't have fog lights or a switch inside the cab. Does anyone have an idea how much the switch goes for? Plus is installing the switch a big project?
