So i recently ran into a little bit of a problem. Yesterday i was driving my truck to a buddies house and upon arrival I parked and turned it off as usual but while i was walking away i noticed that my brake lights were still on. So i go back in and made sure that my lights were turned off (they were) and restarted the truck and shut it back off again without any luck. This has been going on for over 24 hours now and they still haven't shut off. Aside of course from when they drained the battery and then they had nothing left to run on. I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem before and how it was resolved? And i might ad that it was a good -20 degrees with wind chill yesterday when i drove if that makes any difference. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check under the dash at the brake pedal. Most likely the brake switch has become stuck either internally, or externally. Also check to be sure the switch has not come out of adjustment.

There's a rubber snubber on the pedal that depresses the switch. When they get old, they crumble and fall apart and the brake light switch WONT turn off. The switch is a normally closed switch and the pedal opens the circuit.
