So I'm looking to replace my MAF. Only issue is I can't find a good source for the part number from Toyota.
When I type in the part number from the MAF that is currently in the truck, it comes up as a 4runner 3.4 MAF on a handful of toyota part websites. Issue being I have a 98 2.7 Tacoma. I know they use the same MAFs in multiple vehicles, but 3.4 and 2.7?

Anyone know where I can find this info?

Also, if you happen to have a 98 2.7 and about 5 spare minutes, could you take a look at the part number on top of your sensor and post up please?

    Thanks
    -Josh

    Thanks.
    Anyone else?
It's really easy to check. Just two screws and the metal plate pops off reveling the PN#.

Yea. From all my reading, they switched in 98 to a different MAF. And, possibly switched again in either 99 or 2000. :smash:
The number you posted running up to 97.

This may sound simplistic, but have you just tried to call up the local dealer and ask for the part number? I used to do that ALL the time when I needed an OEM part number.

I gave them a call. They said 22204-75010, which is what I have in the truck. Just got confused when I search the PN, and everything that pops up is late 90's 3.4 4Runners.

Don't give the dealer your part number right off the bat. Let him tell the tale and see if there is a match,,or any other match. You give them your part number right off the bat and it gives them a eazy way out to quit looking.

Don't quote me,,but I think the MAF sensor itself was changed in those years in the full factory option 2.7 4runner. Base weight was 3930, then options. Seems I read that somewhere. The 2.7 HP didn't swing to 159 until about 05 in the Tacoma, possibly necessitating a new sensor upgrade/update.

In 1995-96 you could have got a 2.7 150 Hp in the 4Runner or Tacoma. The 3.4 had 183-190HP in 96 also for 4x4 Tacoma . Maybe that MAF was another''Hey,,this'll work here also" parts shortage deal.

Mine is a 22204 75010. Thru Mid Atlantic it shows it fits a 2000 4 Runner and it also will go on a 3.4L 1999-02. Doesen't say anything about a SR5 4x4 2.7, which is what I have.

Here is one for $35,,but you have to buy 20. Kinda gives you a idea on the markup on the above 2 links. CH-ina company repop I believe.

Your 2nd owner right SJ? First owner have anything to say about underhood FI on that rig?

Underhood FI??? Not sure what you're referring to.

I went ahead and picked up one with the part number 22204-75010. It's a new Denso. It was marginally more expensive then the Chinese re-pops. Figured the extra assurance is worth the extra $30-40 bucks.

Edit** Thanks for looking by the way. Good to have some reassurance that I didn't order the wrong one.

Sorry to thread jack but the MAF in my truck looks like its a cheap aftermarket replacement. Should I swap in a oem one? I cant even seem to get mpgs close to what others here have reported for my year truck and engine.Cleaned my tb, no vaccum leaks, fuel pump is good and fuel filter replaced.
