Ok, I traded a 2012 Dodge Ram for this new truck. The Dodge was arguably the most quiet pick up that I have ever owned. My new Taco, holy crap, the dash behind the radio (touch screen) is rattling like crazy!!!!!! Should I take it back to the dealer? Or just deal with it. I cant imagine why a brand new truck would rattle so loud already. Anybody else have a bad rattle in this area?

Is it like a screw loose rattle? Somebody left a tool back there? Something isn't tightened?

Loose panels, I think. I am hesitant to pull it apart being so new. When I push on the radio, or the panels on either side of the radio it goes away for a minute, then comes right back.

Its really bad on a road that is not smooth.

Have it looked at. It's under warranty and I wouldn't except that.

That's what I am thinking too, just didn't want to be with out my truck if this issue was common, and there is no fix for it.

Thanks guys, I will take it back to the dealer.

I had the exact same rattle then a different one a little later. I fixed my first rattle by pulling the radio out and placing felt pads between the radio and the plastic bezel. The I put some more felt where the upper edge of the trim and the dash meet and that stopped the more annoying rattle. Then I started hearing a new one. It was between the touch screen and the small plastic bezel directly below and to the left of center. I stuck a black piece of cardoard in there without removing the radio. So far I'm rattle free...until the next one at least. By the way mine is also a 14. I hate the cheap plastic that Toyota seems to use around the radios. My 08' Tundra had all the same creaking rattles in the same areas.

I have 1300 miles on my 2014, no dash rattles at all. I'd have it looked at if it happened to me.

I've had several rattles...still working through them with the dealer. As long as they're taken care of before you're out of the warranty, it's all good.

My wife will be taking it in on Monday.

**Also, just noticed that my bed side is not even with my tailgate on both sides. The gap on the right is even, and probably 1/4 top and bottom. The driver side is 1/8 inch at the bottom and 3/8 on the top.

I must have gotten a Friday truck, just my luck.

That is unusual for a Toyota.

As for the dash rattle I had one in my 2011 but it was intermittent. I took the radio out to run the cables for my GPS and when I put the radio back in the dash was quiet from that point on. Either there was something hitting the back of the radio or I tightened up one (or all) of the screws enough to quiet down whatever was making the noise.

Hope you get it figured out either way.

2013 Taco with dash rattle also. Does it more when very cold. Sounds like a screw, nut or washer rattle. Will have dealer look at it next oil change.

I wouldn't pull it apart with it being new and under warranty. Don't feel bad for taking it in. Those rattles over time can drive you mad. Mine is quiet with no rattles or anything.
