How did you go about marking the holes?

 

I'm going to install the lower today. I'll take my time and post pics up when I'm done. Wish me luck!

Just finished the install, not that hard. I ended up removing the front bumper, my hands wouldn't fit in to get the screws in. It really made the whole thing much easier. I took a few pictures.
First I took off the grill. 2 screws and 3 clips and it comes right off.

I cut the old grill out and sprayed the radiator with heat resistant flat black.

This is when I decided to remove the bumper. The Grillcraft directions show where all the hardware is. It took me about a half hout to do this, I was a little nervous.

Next I used a black sharpie to mark where to drill and drilled the holes. I installed the grill with the bumper upside down on a piece of foam.

My superviser kept a close eye on me.

Re-installing the bumper was a pain, but I took my time and everything lined up for me. Here is the finished job!

Great job! I see that you removed the little crossbars things on the lower grill? That makes things look MUCH easier. I think I'll cut mine out tomorrow. Thanks for the pics!

 

Thanks Packerfan. I used a saber saw to cut the old cross piece out. Very simple, took about 2 minutes.

 

Yeah, I was wondering how to mark those holes...I had one hand on the outside holding the grille and the other underneath with a broken pencil, trying to get it marked. I was like WTF!? But seeing that those get cut out was like hearing the heavens sing.

GOt mine put in this past weekend (08AUG2009). Not that difficult, either.

Thanks! RTR stands for Roll Tide Roll. Haven't seen many like it, even in Alabama.

 

Probably finish my instal tomorrow. I will say that the grill was amazingly easy to take off. I remember on my 90 pickup being perplexed as hell trying to get things off and on. Kinda scary how easy it was.

So my truck is all masked off and a couple coats of the high heat krylon are on. I didn't take off my horns or the hood latch. The paint seems easy to get around where you need it.

For those of you who did paint behind the grill, how many coats did you use?

i think i used 5 - 7 coats...goes on so easy just wanted to make sure i didn't miss any spots or anything and that it would stay
