Thought this was a suitable place to post this.

Personally for me when I'm off roading for the day, I like to be well prepared for a just in case emergency. Two years ago while off roading, my self and another truck got stuck down in a river valley while doing a river run on semi dry river bed in the Canadian Rockies. The river came to a "Y" and we followed the river west opposed to following it north west...rookie mistake! We ended up spending the night in our vehicles. we had all our supplies back at camp and had no food, sleeping bags or warm clothes. It was mid October so the nights got below 0 degrees c. It felt like a night as survivor man! since then I have kept a few items in my truck, dehydrated meals (not MRE's) they don't take a freeze thaw cycle well!, water, and a Can stove like the one I posted below. be prepared when off-roading, even if you are close to home. Good luck, and happy trails!

    Rocket stove-:headbang:

Runs on branches, sticks, twigs basically anything that burns-small fuel.

Built my 3 sons each one for Christmas, best gift ever according to them!

Thanks, yeah with the stove and a cast iron skillet/ Dutch oven -mmmmmm the possibilities. We've made gumbo, stew, jambalaya, burgers and much more. All with branches that would normally just rot away in the woods.

It's modeled after a stove called the "deadwood"- Just wasn't up to paying the $200 they sell for. Very efficient for cooking, toying around with a flume to heat an enclosure now.
