With all these nice looking aftermarket bumpers I see, I've noticed that a lot of them weigh a lot, upwards of 300+lbs. that being said, do you need to do anything to your front suspension to handle this extra weight? Any noticeable difference in long term wear from the weight?

Front bumpers (with the exception of aluminum versions) for our trucks range from about 95#-140#. Stock suspension doesn't do too well with these kinds of bumpers, but it's not imperative you get a different suspension to put one on.

I'm running into the same issue. I will be adding 140-170 lbs worth of bumper, winch, and lights. I am running the TRD Baja suspension but I think I might have to change my coils to OME. I have not figured it out yet. If you need to look into the OME coils. I will keep you informed on anything I discover.

Hmmm, I'm not exactly sure what the heck I was looking but I just looked up my bumper again that I'm interested in getting. It's the Fab Fours. For some reason I thought I read it weighed about 265 pounds but I guess I was wrong. It weighs 140 pounds. Now add a winch and your up too about 200. Yikes! So I guess you would need to do something to the front suspension.
How well do the aluminum bumpers hold up when there is a winch attached to it?

They are strong, they are just significantly more expensive.

I would urge you to stay away from the Fab Four bumper. Huge, heavy, and actually decreases approach angle from stock.

Take a look here for other vendors' bumpers.

I ordered from Relentless Fabrication. I have not received it yet (5 month wait), but from talking with Eric (owner) I'm glad I went with them. He is very responsive and knowledgeable. I went with the aluminum option. My knowledge on the aluminum bumpers are they are strong and will handle a winch and recovery. They are much more expensive.
