i suppose its kind of a mistake to phrase it like that, but in the texas sun -if its anything like the deserts of southern california would roast that thing to high hell. the fumes are explosive... the liquid just burns. but i still wouldnt play with a black metal sealed container full of gas. see: boyles law, charles law.

id stick with plastic for where you live. better safe than sprayed in the face by super pressurized fuel and then lit on fire by the static discharge. since your bed is made of a composite material, i assume it can very easily generate a charge since composite is not exactly the most conductive thing on the planet.

that might be a little extreme though. we could just go with the durability of those scepter ones as justification. :D

The water can cap has an extra breather that can make the can not fit into some fuel can holders with straps

For what it's worth, we used the water cans to hold fuel all the time overseas. Just wrote fuel on them to make sure some moron didn't pour it on a fire or try drinking it.

I haven't used one personally, but I heard that the MFC's have female threads to accept the old metal threaded jerry can nozzles. I don't know if the water cans have those threads.

Meh, just get the water can and make a simple siphon hose? That's all I would do.

    Too many to list now.
Can you run over scepter cans without destroying them? I carry rotopax (both on my truck and as Overland Alaska), and I absolutely love them. I am adding a second 4 gallon and two two gallon containers for recovery gear. All on my rear bumper.
