I'll throw one other thing to consider with the tire choice you're looking at.

    35x12.5x17's

    Trail Grappler = 80 lbs
    MTR= 64 lbs

Thats a huge difference per tire...

If you're after saving weight I believe the hankook dynapro MT's are one of the lightest 35/12.5/17's on the market.

This and Price are the only reasons I couldn't go trail grappler. I love the way they look though. My next tire will be MTRs

I hated the dynapro's when I first seen them, they have since grown on me. And then I ended up running them on my ranger. And I must say, it is an all around great tire! I have zero complaints, which I can't say for most of the other tires I have ran.

I just bought some stuff that is like bed liner, but marketed for wheelwells that I am going to give a go. I am thinking it will be like the stuff that is already in there to keep rock pings quieter.

I went by BAMF, Jerry welded it up a bit to fill in the holes and I'll add some sealant to fill in the rest. then paint it. Then Bedliner it. lol

BTW: I made the switch over to dynapro M/T's and they've been great thus far. They are softer so they do wear but it's a trade off.

nevermind I just used google hahaha its 69.5 lbs with the kevlar so still lighter by 10 lbs. You could save 50-60 pounds depending on how many spares you carry

The dynapros are going to be about the lightest quality MT tire you're going to find in a 35. the shipping weight on mine was 64 lbs a piece. However, they do transition to a "race" sidewall when you go to a 37'', making them nearly 100 lbs each. so thumbs up for them as a 35; thumbs down to them as a 37. unless you need a race sidewall that will stop a bullet.

great all around tire though. had mine for about 6 months. made about 6 wheeling trips with them in varying terrains, varying from sugar sand, to rocks, to mud, to clay/dirt. they haven't let me down yet.

Awesome, glad that worked out for you.

Excited to throw my D load 295's on (33.6") they have been staring at me all winter in the garage. Did a test fit the other day for rear clearance though, looks like I may even have room for 35's :D

35's fit like on 4th gen's they do on the 2nd gen Tacoma's, for the most part(washer bottle is an issue, and a little bit of rear fender on compression on the 4runners):

All 3 rigs in this picture are on 35's and 2-3" lift

I know they will "fit", just a matter of persuasion as detailed in this thread. My 285s rubbed the shit out of the rear though, which is why I went with a BL.

I used the same stuff. It dries out a bit after a while and will leak again. Best to fill the holes with clear RTV first. When that cures, then put some layers of the rubber sealant over it.

I used some clear stuff for the bigger crack. The smaller side I just used this. In the future I think I'll just cut the whole fenderwell and redo it. lol
