Body Armor Basket and Rack. Upgraded stereo to a Sony touch screen blue tooth model. Changed out tail lights to LED black outs, and headlights as well. Purchased LED off-road lights for the Basket but have not installed them yet. 126K miles as of 2/15/2021
Recently purchased a new/used 08 Tacoma 6 cylinder with 4x4 and I am truly looking forward to getting her dirty (beyond the snow we have dealt with this year). I am trying to pull together a reasonable list of mods to get me started. Already purchased the running nerf bars and installed them. Anyone with pointers and suggestions as to what you found more useful or necessary please feel free to respond. Long term goal is putting a 3" lift, up sizing the tires, and roll bar. (Cause you never know). Bull bar with brush guards and tail light brush guards as well.

Search the forum for easy mods. There are a lot of simple ones I would have never thought about, like the rear diff breather mod. There is a LOT of info on the site.

By running nerf bars I hope you mean rock sliders connected to the frame. all those step bars that bolt to the bottom of the body are no good for off road.

    +1

Nerf bars can actually cause problems when they hang up off road.
