Spark plug gap with TRD S/C and 7th

    Trd Supercharger, Trd 7th injector, K&N drop in filter.
    Im curious what you guys suggest I gap my plugs. They are Denso IK20s gapped to .043 like ive seen a few people running but I was just looking and my TRD 7th Injector manual and it says to gap them at .032"

    I would imagine that the SC install instructions would tell you if you needed to re-gap them. It shouldn't make a difference anyway. The recommended gap is determined by coil/ignitor amps and system insulation. Recommended is .039-.043 according to Chris4x4 in http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/30479-how-spark-plug-change-1-gr-fe.html . Personally, I always have favored a larger gap unless it causes misfires.

    Sidenote: I think people tend to over think spark plugs on daily driven cars. Yes, they tell a lot of information about a/f ratio, temp etc but none of that matters if you cannot tune the engine (ie: our tacomas). Performance/race engines are a whole 'nother story.

    Go with .040-.042 and don't worry about it.

    Turbo with supporting mods and tranny to hold power.
    Iridium 2 step colder than stock and gap around .03" +/- for forced induction on your 5vz.
