I just went 4wd with my truck and now I notice that the 4wd light is flashing when not engaged and when I go to engage it into 4-HI it will not engage period. What could be the problem and is it big $$ to fix? I literally just got done and went to put it back into 4wd and its as if I have nothing now except 2wd and a constant flashing light

Turn the truck off and turn it back on to signal the 4wd to reset. If not you can try to lay underneath and manually reset the actuator that engages the 4wd. There is a plug which you can disconnect and reconnect. I had to reset my actuator when it got water in it somehow...

Tried to get a picture of it for you but the sun is out and lighting is weird. Look at your front diff right behind the skid plate. There will be only one electrical plug up there. There will also be a white sticker in the area talking something about using only A.D.D. oil or some damn thing...

You try it in reverse, neutral, drive, different speeds, stopped, etc...?

Sometimes mine gets stuck but will engage while in drive, as I'm letting off the gas pedal.

I tried while driving and in park and neutral. Havent tried reverse but I dont think its going to happen. Is it a difficult fix and does it cost alot?

Probably not. Actuators usually get stuck because of electrical problems. I don't think I've ever heard of a transfer case blowing out like that.

This happens on my reg 2013 reg cab 4x4. It is pretty sensitive, if the wheels being actuated cannot freely spin(dirt or gravel) then it will not click on automatically, you have to drive a couple feet without turning for it to engage. If your on loose terrain it should engage immediately. Try getting back on loose road and engaging it to see what it does?

Well if he has an OR it could be he accidentally hit the switch. Just wanted to make sure that we weren't tracking a non issue.

How would you know if the transfer case was blown anyway? Would it make any noise
