I have a 07 tacoma and i was looking to take off the leer cap i have on the back of it. How much do these weigh? and Could i easily remove and store it, then reinstall it without much trouble? Thanks for any help
ps:its the short bed , i don't know if that would effect the weight much

Something to keep in mind, the weight of these caps is NOT distributed equally (at least not on my snugtop). So while it's not terribly heavy, it's still awkward to lift at first.

Two people would be fine. I wouldn't suggest someone to lift it on their own.

It's do-able by yourself but you need to get set up with a rack to move it onto that matches the height of the bed caps fairly closely , as posted above , 2 people make it safer and way easier

I have taken mine off without help. I have a retaining wall next to my driveway so I can back up to it and lower the tailgate. It leaves a few inches between the tailgate and the ground. So to get the cap off I unbolt it, get inside and lift it up like you would carry a canoe on your back then just walk it off the bed. A bit awkward but not too bad.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
If you can bend over in the bed and lift it up on your back, you can walk out of the bed with it. I would never do it myself though, it's too oppy and you may damage something or scratch your bedside if it gets away from you.

Get yourself a couple two by fours. Crawl into the back and put your back up against the cap and push starting in the front. Place the two by fours under the cap crosswise front and back. Then attach a rope and pulley system that you have already installed in your garage's framing and lift each corner. A little time consuming but it works.

I use a electric hoist and take it on and off all the time. I can post some pics of my setup if you want.

    Some stuff...
A buddy made a pulley system in his garage with an old boat come-a-long to hoist it up. Wish I had pics, it's a pretty slick setup.
